closed. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the <br />ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTIONS 12-3, 12-6, 12-7, 24-2, AND 29-2, AS AMENDED, OF <br />THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, RELAING TO <br />CITY GAS, WATER AND SEWER CHARGES', was offered and carried <br />over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: ADOPTING UTILITY BUDGET <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the <br />Utility Budget Appropriation was offered and carried over to <br />the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> It was noted by Council that both the Utility Rate <br />Ordinance and Utility Budget Appropriation are subject to <br />modification following the work session. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: AMENDING CHAPTER 5.1 OF CITY CODE RELATING TO CABLE <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br /> Mr. Wiley stated that the ordinance was being amended <br />to comply with federal law and would include the provision <br />that apartment complexes could not prohibit individual <br />service to tenants within the complex and would clarify the <br />law regarding receiving cable services without paying the <br />necessary fees to the cable company. <br /> <br /> Mr. Barnes requested that staff examine Section <br />5.1-2.1.1 and clarify the language. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Hall, the <br />ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 5.1 OF THE <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976 RELATING TO CABLE <br />COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS BY AMENDING AND REORDAINING SECTIONS <br />5.1-1, 5.1-6~ 5.1-7 AND 5.1-9, REPEALING SECTIONS 5.1-2, <br />5.1-3~ 5.1-4, 5.1-5, AND 5.1-8, AND ADDING NEW SECTIONS <br />NUMBERED 5.1-2.1 AND 5.1-8.1 AND 5ol-9.1" was offered and <br />carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION: GRAPHICS AWARD - "BUS GUIDE" - TRANSIT SERVICE <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck presented a plaque to Ms. Helen Poore and Mr. <br />Harold Grimes of the Transit Service and Mr. Jim Herndon of <br />Community Development, for an award for second place in a <br />national graphics competition for the Bus Guide. <br /> <br />REQUEST: <br />ISRAEL <br /> <br />CONVEYING BETH ISRAEL CEMETERY TO CONGREGATION BETH <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the Congregation Beth Isreal <br />had requested that the City reconvey the Hebrew Cemetery to <br />the Congregation. Mr. Hendrix stated that the deed would <br />provide that the City return $4,000 which the Congregation <br />had contributed previously for a perpetual care fund and <br />provided that the Congregation would add 10% of the proceeds <br />from sales of plots in future years to the perpetual care <br />fund. Mr. Hendrix stated that staff had no objection to <br />reconveying the cemetery to the Congregation Beth Israel. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Gunter~ seconded by Dr. Hall, the <br />ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE <br />RECONVEYANCE OF A CEMETERY, KNOWN AS HEBREW CEMETERY, <br />LOCATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF FIRST STREET IN THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE RELIGIOUS <br />CONGREGATION OF BETH ISRAEL TEMPLE OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, AND <br />TO RETURN TO THE CONGREGATION $4,000.00 IN PERPETUAL CARE <br />FUNDS" was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />STAFF REPORT: ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT MEADOWCREEK PARKWAY <br /> <br />261 <br /> <br /> <br />
