293 <br /> <br />funds, and $1,845 in VDH&T funds. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $1,845 is <br />hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the <br />General Fund for transfer to the Grants Fund as the <br />City's matching share of such grant. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $52,000 - PERINATAL NUTRITION AND EDUCATION <br />SERVICES GRANT (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The $52,000 appropriation for the Perinatal Nutrition <br />and Education Services Grant which was offered at the <br />meeting of July 7th was approved by the following vote. <br />Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. <br />Towe. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia, acting through <br />and on behalf of the Thomas Jefferson Health District <br />desires to renew the contract with the City of <br />Charlottesville to operate a program within the Health <br />District to improve perinatal nutrition and to educate <br />parents and expectant parents about the nutrition of <br />their infants; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Commonwealth has agreed to reimburse the <br />City for the cost of salaries, fringe benefits and other <br />ancillary expenses for the employment of such employees, <br />up to a maximum amount of $52,000 for the 1986-87 fiscal <br />year; now, therefore <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville~ Virginia, that a sum sufficient not to <br />exceed $52,000.00 is hereby appropriated to expenditure <br />account 11-42070 in the Grants Fund for the costs incurred <br />by the City pursuant to the aforesaid contract for the <br />perinatal nutrition and education services. Such <br />appriopriation shall be subject to 100% reimbursement from <br />the Commonwealth of Virginia. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $22,845 - TEMPORARY CARE AND COMMUNITY <br />SUPERVISION GRANT (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The $22,845 appropriation for the Temporary Care and <br />Community Supervision Grant which was offered at the <br />meeting of July 7th was approved by the following vote. <br />Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. <br />Towe. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Corrections has <br />notified the City's Community Attention system of a <br />Juvenile Jail Removal Initiative Grant award; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that $22,845 is hereby <br />appropriated to Community Attention Fund expenditure <br />account number 19-12040 for the operation of a program of <br />temporary care and community supervision of juvenile <br />offenders by the City's Community Attention system, <br />effective July 1, 1986. Such appropriation shall be <br />conditioned upon receipt by the City of a like amount of <br />funds from the Virginia Department of Corrections grant <br />number 85-A 6285J, to be credited to the Community <br />Attention Fund. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $61,995 - YOUTH SERVICE CENTER GRANT <br /> <br /> It was noted that the Social Development Commission <br />had recommended that the Youth Service Center sign the <br />contract which had previously been signed by Central <br />Virginia Child Development AssOciation for the Youth <br />Service Center. <br /> <br /> <br />
