Filling <br />Station <br />PerUit <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />a permit to operate a filling station on the Qwest side of Route 29 about <br />300 feet north of the intersection of R_)ute 250, be and the sane is hereby <br />granted to the Pure Oil Company on condition that the applicant complies <br />with all of the re:,uirements for the establishment of a filling station. <br />A communication from the Chief of Police relative to time lost by Policeman <br />Time lost W. S. Kennedy on account of sickness was presented. On motion by Mr. Jessup, <br />by Policeman <br />on account Policeman Kennedy was ordered paid one-half pay for the time lost on L'ece .ber /+th, <br />of sickness <br />and fron- December 8 to 18, 1938, inclusive. <br />On motion the following resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of. the City of Charlottesville <br />Population- that the Judge of the Circuit Court of AlbemLrle County be requested to <br />Annexed <br />Territory determine the -population of the recently annexed territory to the City <br />as provided for by Chapter 265 of the 1938 Acts of the General Asseinbly, <br />P. 400. <br />The following report was unanimously adopted: <br />December 19, 1938 <br />To the Members of the Council of the <br />City of Charlottesville, Virginia <br />Gentlemen: <br />I respectfully recommend that an appropriation be <br />made to cover the following items which are set fortia in <br />the Court Order relative to Annexation: <br />1. Interest due within the current fiscal year on <br />Debt & School Albemarle County Bonas assumed by Annexation <br />Charges - <br />Annexation 672.53 <br />2. Tuition for pupils attending McIntire <br />School ( to be paid in five equal <br />monthly instLllments beginning <br />January 5, 1939) 5,886.22 <br />3. Damages to use of School Building <br />(to be raid by January 30, 1939) 99000.00 <br />Total 115,558.75 <br />I also recommend that Sinking Fund contributions to <br />retire Albemarle County BDnds assumed by Annexation be <br />started curing our next fiscal year. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Jas. Bowen, Jr. (signed) <br />JFB:RB City Auditor <br />The following resolution was offered and carried over to the next regular meet- <br />ing for consideration: <br />Resolution BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />Appropriation <br />for Debt & 115,558.75, be and the same is hereby appropriated for the purposes as <br />School Charges <br />set forth in the foregoing report. <br />On motion the Council went into Executive Session by the following; recorded <br />vote: Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Mr. Huff, �r.
