47.'l <br />• Gentlemen: <br />In accordance with your instructions we have investigated the <br />petition of residents on Little Graves Street, and find that <br />there are five properties located on this street. The street <br />is approximately 281 wide and 260, long. I find that the City <br />Report has done some work on this street from time to time, «nd the <br />re: surface is sufficient to keep it from getting muddy but it may <br />Little Graves be somewhat dusty in dry weather. I therefore feel that it has <br />Street already been taken over by the City. <br />As to the sidewalks, if the property owners desire sidewalks to <br />be constructed, they should make application as is customary in <br />all sidewalk petitions. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />SETH BURNLEY (signed) <br />SB:vL City "tanager <br />On motion by Mr. Jessup, secondedbyDr. Haden, the following report was <br />0 unanimously adopted: <br />May 1, 1939 <br />To the Members of the City Council <br />City of Charlottesville, Virginia <br />00 <br />N <br />Gentlemen: <br />Since the report of the Cemetery Committee, dated March 6th, <br />1939, it has been necessary to make certain adjustments in <br />the charges for grave spaces in Oakwood Cemetery. We recommend <br />that the following rates be charged for spaces in Divisions <br />Report of H and J: $100.00 per section of six (6) grave spaces or <br />Cemetery $20.00 per grave space for blocks of less than six. Divisions <br />Committee K and L: A charge of $75.00 for a section of six (6) or x'15.00 <br />per grave space, except the area lying south of the road in <br />Division L shall be set aside for the interment of white paupers; <br />Division G lying south of the present colored portion of Oak- <br />wood Cemetery shall be set aside for the interment of colored <br />persons and the charge per grave space shall be I15.00 each or <br />six (6) spaces for 05.00. <br />In any area of Oakwood Cemetery where grave spaces of irregular <br />length occur these grave spaces may be sold and the charge <br />for same shall be based on the ratio of their length to the <br />regular brave space length on the basis of the cost of such <br />regular grave spaces in that Division. <br />Sections No. 1 and No. 2 in Division K shall be set aside for <br />the interment of infants with grave spaces not exceeding 4-1/2 <br />feet in length, and the charge for these shorter grave spaces <br />shall be $10.00 each. <br />All grave spaces sold in Divisions G.
