47.'l • Gentlemen: In accordance with your instructions we have investigated the petition of residents on Little Graves Street, and find that there are five properties located on this street. The street is approximately 281 wide and 260, long. I find that the City Report has done some work on this street from time to time, «nd the re: surface is sufficient to keep it from getting muddy but it may Little Graves be somewhat dusty in dry weather. I therefore feel that it has Street already been taken over by the City. As to the sidewalks, if the property owners desire sidewalks to be constructed, they should make application as is customary in all sidewalk petitions. Respectfully submitted, SETH BURNLEY (signed) SB:vL City "tanager On motion by Mr. Jessup, secondedbyDr. Haden, the following report was 0 unanimously adopted: May 1, 1939 To the Members of the City Council City of Charlottesville, Virginia 00 N Gentlemen: Since the report of the Cemetery Committee, dated March 6th, 1939, it has been necessary to make certain adjustments in the charges for grave spaces in Oakwood Cemetery. We recommend that the following rates be charged for spaces in Divisions Report of H and J: $100.00 per section of six (6) grave spaces or Cemetery $20.00 per grave space for blocks of less than six. Divisions Committee K and L: A charge of $75.00 for a section of six (6) or x'15.00 per grave space, except the area lying south of the road in Division L shall be set aside for the interment of white paupers; Division G lying south of the present colored portion of Oak- wood Cemetery shall be set aside for the interment of colored persons and the charge per grave space shall be I15.00 each or six (6) spaces for 05.00. In any area of Oakwood Cemetery where grave spaces of irregular length occur these grave spaces may be sold and the charge for same shall be based on the ratio of their length to the regular brave space length on the basis of the cost of such regular grave spaces in that Division. Sections No. 1 and No. 2 in Division K shall be set aside for the interment of infants with grave spaces not exceeding 4-1/2 feet in length, and the charge for these shorter grave spaces shall be $10.00 each. All grave spaces sold in Divisions G. H, J, K and L shall be in perpetual care, and the money so collected shall be set up as a perpetual care fund. Respectfully submitted, i W. D. HADEN (signed) F.
