C <br /> <br />SPECIFIC LICENSE TAX ON DAIRIES SELLING MILK IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE: <br /> <br />That, Every Dairy selling milk in the City shall pay a license tax of five dollars <br /> <br />($5.00) per annum. <br /> <br />Presented May 17, 1905; Approved May 17, 1905. <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE KEEPING OF STOCK WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS AND THE CONDUCT <br /> <br />SLAUGTHERHOUSES. <br /> <br />(Adopted May 11,1905) <br /> <br />(Adopted May 11, 1905) <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br /> <br />That Section I, Title 3 of the General Ordinances be repealed, and in lieu of thereof <br /> <br />The following be enacted, That no hogs shall be allowed in the City or one-quarter mile <br /> <br />of the City limits. PENALTY One dollar ($1.00) per day for each hog. <br /> <br />2- No sheep shall be kept in the City limits. FINE one dollar ($1.00) per day for each <br /> <br /> Sheep. <br /> <br />3- No stock pen, or similar nuisance, shall be maintained within one hundred (100) yards <br /> <br />Of any dwelling in the City limits. FINE one dollar ($1.00) per day for each animal. <br /> <br />4- Slaughter houses in one mile of City shall be cleaned and disinfected as ordered by <br /> <br />The Health Officer. Any failure to keep premises in sanitary condition shall be punish- <br /> <br />Able by revoking licenses, or fine not exceeding ten dollars ($10.00), in the discretion of <br /> <br />the court. <br /> <br />5- Dairies, or the milk supplied from them shall be liable to inspection by the Health <br /> <br />Officer and failure to maintain sanitary condition or premises or attempt to sell adulter- <br /> <br />ated milk, or milk below the standard, shall be punishable by revoking the license, or fine <br /> <br />not exceeding ten dollars ($10.00), in the discretion of the court. <br /> <br />Presented May 17, 1905; Approved May 17, 1905. <br /> <br />Mayor Signature. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE DISPOTION OF REMAINS OF HUMAN BEINGS IN THE CITY OF <br /> <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE: <br /> <br />(Adopted May 11, 1905) <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE: <br /> <br />That, The remains of any human being dying in the City of Charlottesville, shall not <br /> <br />Be interred or removed from said City by any undertaker or other party without a written <br /> <br />permit from the Health Officer. <br /> <br />The Health Officer shall not grant such permit without a written certificate from <br /> <br />Physician in charge of last illness within 24 hours after death. <br /> <br />In case of still born child it shall be the city of Physician or midwife in charge <br /> <br />To report same, and a permit for burial must be within 24 hours after death, under direc- <br /> <br />tion from the Health Officer. <br /> <br />Such remains shall not be taken into a church or public edifice and must be <br /> <br />removed only in a regular hearse. Only those obtaining a written permit from the Health <br /> <br />Officer may attend the funeral. <br /> <br />Any violation of this ordinance shall be punishable by a fine of not less than twenty <br /> <br />Five dollars ($25.00) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00). <br /> <br />These ordinances shall be in force from their passage. <br /> <br />Presented May 17, 1905; Approved May 17, 1905. <br /> <br />Mayor Signature. <br />
