AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING GAMING IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE: <br /> <br />(Adopted May 19, 1905) <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br /> <br />That, Any person who shall keep or maintain a house or apartment or room in which <br /> <br />games of cards, or of chance, shall be habitually played for money or any thing to be <br /> <br />cashed in as money, shall be fined not less than five dollars (%5.00) nor mor than fifty <br /> <br />Dollars ($50.00) and be imprisoned in the City jail for not more than thirty (30) days. <br /> <br />Presented May 23, 1905; Approved May 23, 1905. <br /> <br />Mayor Signature. . <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE LAYING OF PAVEMENTS AND SIDEWALKS IN THE CITY OF <br /> <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE: <br /> <br />(Adopted May 19, 1905) <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br /> <br />That Sections 1 & 2 of Chapter 10 of the General Ordinances be amended and ___ <br /> <br />To read as follows; <br /> <br />Section 1, Whenever a new pavement of sidewalk shall be ordered by the Council or the <br /> <br />Committee on Streets, the City shall cause the curb to be put down and the owner of the <br /> <br />property along the boundary of which said sidewalk shall extend, shall be required to pay <br /> <br />two-thirds (2/3) of the cost of constructing the same. <br /> <br /> <br />Section 2, Whenever any citizen desires a sidewalk to be put down along the boundary of <br /> <br />his property he shall in writing state to the Chairman of the Street Committee may order <br /> <br />such side-walk as in their judgement they deem best, the City furnishing the curbing and <br /> <br />paying one-third (1/3) of the cost of same. <br /> <br /> <br />All ordinances of parts of ordinances conflicting herewith are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Presented to the Mayor May 20, 1905, returned to the Clerk May 25, 1905 <br /> <br />With his signature. This ordinance there fore becomes effective according to _____ <br /> <br />Mayor Signature. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND RETRACT SECTION 5 OF THE ORDIANANCES REGULATING THE <br /> <br />SELLING OF MILK IN THE ___ <br /> <br />(Adopted June 8th, 1905) <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE: <br /> <br />That section 5 of the Ordinance regulating the sale of milk in the City be amendable <br /> <br />And re-enacted as follows; That dairies or the milk supplied therefrom shall be liable <br /> <br />inspection by the Health Officer, and failure to maintain sanitary condition of dairies <br /> <br />and milk utensils or use unhealthy cows or attempt to vend adulterated milk, or milk ___ <br /> <br />The standard, shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding ten dollars ($10.00), or <br /> <br />suspension of permit for 30 days to one year, or both in the discretion of the Court. <br /> <br />Presented June 10, 1905; Approved June 10, 1905. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REPEALING THE SPECIFIC LISENCE TAX ON DAIRIES AND INSTEAD THEREOF <br /> <br />REQUIRING THEM TO REGISTER. <br /> <br />(Adopted June 8th, 1905) <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE: <br /> <br />That the spcific licence tax on daries be repealed and instead thereof the following <br /> <br />be enacted; 1st.
