26 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND RE-ENACT SECTION 11 OF THE LICENSER ORDINANCE AS ADOPTED MARCH 25, 1907. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />The specific lecense tax on every resident or non-resident Attorney-at law, physicians, <br /> <br />Dentist, Architect ,Civil Engine or, Surveyor, Optician, and Veterinary Surgeon, <br /> <br />having an office or carrying on business in this city shall be twenty five dollars <br /> <br />($25.). <br /> <br />All persons who shall for compensation furnish plans and specifications for the <br /> <br />erection or improvement of buildings shall be deemed Architects; and all persons who <br /> <br />examine the eyes for the purpose of fitting glasses to them shall be deemed Optician <br /> <br />within the meaning of this section. <br /> <br />No such license shall be issued for less than $25.00. No pro rata. <br /> <br />The specific license tax on every resident or non-resident Conveyancer having __ <br /> <br />office or carrying on business in this city shall be twenty five dollars ($25.). <br /> <br />All persons other than duly authorized Attorneys -at -law ,who for compensation or <br /> <br />reward , shall prepare deeds , contracts ,wills or other writing, shall be deemed __ <br /> <br />No license shall be issued to Conveyancers for less than twenty five dollars ($25.). <br /> <br />Presented to the Mayor May 1st, 1907. <br />Returned without his signature May 6th, 1907. Adopted April 30, 1907. <br /> <br />Clerk Signature Vice Presidnet Signature <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND RE-ACT SECTION 96 OF THE LICENSE ORDINANCE AS ADOPTED MARCH __, 1907. <br /> <br />Sec.96. <br /> <br />On every two -horse Hack, Phaeton ,Omnibus or drag used for hire, ten dollars ($10.). <br /> <br />On every -one-horse Buggy, Phaeton, Surry, Drag, used for hire, five dollars ($5.). <br /> <br />On every two -horse wagon, or dray, with or without springs, used for hire, twelve <br /> <br />dollars ($12.) . <br /> <br />On every one-horse wagon, dray or cart, used for hire, six dollars ($6.). <br /> <br />On every Automobile used for hire, twenty dollars ($20.). <br /> <br />Any person desiring to surrender a license for a one-horse vehicle and have issued <br /> <br />therefor a license for a two -horse vehicle, shall be entitled to a credit for the <br /> <br />unexpired part of the license surrendered. <br /> <br />Any person, non-resident, hauling goods or letting his vehicle or vehicles out for ___ <br /> <br />on the public streets of this city shall be held liable under this ordiriance. <br /> <br />Every licensed carriage, hack, wagon or other vehicle, shall have its number plainly <br /> <br />marked on metal or other material and placed on the rear face of the rear axle the <br /> <br />or other conspicuous place. <br /> <br />Such license number shall be supplied by the Commissioner of Revenue. <br /> <br />It shall be unlawful to transfer a tag from one vehicle to another, except in case <br /> <br />of a vehicle being temporarily disabled. <br /> <br />The Chief of Police is hereby designated Wagon Inspector and it shall be his duty __ <br /> <br />see that all vehicles for which a license is required under this section shall have __ <br /> <br />number properly displayed, and if any vehicle be found without such number it shall <br /> <br />be his duty to ascertain the number and require said license to be procured under <br /> <br />penalty as provided in the General Provisions of this ordinance. <br /> <br />In the discharge of the duty thus imposed the Chief shall have authority to call <br /> <br />to his aid the several members of his force. <br /> <br />Presented to the Mayor May 1st, 1907. <br />Returned without his signature may 6, 1907.
