A RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING $500. FOR THE PURCHASE OF A STREET SPRINKLER AND OILER. RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CONCURRING, That the sum of $500. , or so much thereof as may be necessary, be, and is hereby appropriated to purchase a street sprinkler and oiler attachment, if after investigation by the Street Committee it is deemed necessary to make the purchase in whole or in parts Adopted by the Common Council April 12, 1917. Ayes: Elliott, Gleason Furrest, Graves, Lung, Souder and Wingfield • (7):Noes, none. Concurred in by Board of Aldermen April 16, 1917. Ayes: Bolling Harris, Timberlake and Walker. A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR AN ARC LIGHT AT CORNOR OF FOURTEENTH ST. AND VIRGINIA AVE. RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CONCURRING, That one electric light, in addition and upon the same conditions applying to the twenty lights recently placed in the annexed territory, be placed at the corner of 14th Street and Virginia Avenue. A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE JJINT CARE OF STRF,ET LIGHTING AND UP KEEP OF STREETS ON UNIVERSITY AVENUE AND RUGBY ROAD. RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CONCURRING. That the City Manager confer with the University of Virginia Superintendent of Grounds and Buildings as to the joint responsibility of the City and University for the care and lighting of University Avenue and Rugby Road where the city property abuts on one side of the said streets and university property on the other, and that it be agreed that the city will care for the roads if the University will care for the proper lighting of them.
