AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE ALLOWANCE TO THE JAILOR FOR BOARDING CITY PRISONERS

<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CONCURRING,

<br />That on and after June 1,1917, the City Jailor be allowed and paid for the board of
<br />
<br />prisoners as follows; when working, 60 cents per day; when idle, 45 cents per day for each
<br />
<br />prisoners
<br />

<br />That stret lights be placed at cirner of Ridge street and Lankford Avenue; one
<br />
<br />near 909 Anderson Street and one on Ivy Road near foot of Carr's Hill, to be paid for
<br />
<br />as the other lights installed in the annexed territory heretofore.

<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CONCURRING,

<br />That $250. or so much thereof as may be necessary be and the same is hereby appropriated
<br />
<br />to be paid to Major C. M. Bolton, Commander, to defray the expenses of the confederate
<br />
<br />veterans of the City to attend the unveiling of the monument to General Robert E. Lee
<br />
<br />at Gettysburg on the 8th of June 1917.

<br />A RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING $20 TO REIMBURSE CAPTAIN L.H. JONES FOR LOSS OF TIRE.

<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CONCURRING

<br />That whereas the City officials requested Captain L.H. Jones to bring his
<br />
<br />blood hounds to the City on the night of April 12th for the purpose of locating the
<br />
<br />murderers of M. A. Thomas, and whereas he ruined one of his automobile tires in
<br />
<br />making the trip, therefore be it Resolved, That the sum of $20. be appropriated to
<br />
<br />reimburse him for the loss of said automobile tire.
