AN ORDIANCE REGUALTING THE REPARING OR TESTING OF MOTOR VEHICLES IN THE STREETS:

<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN, THE COMMON COUNCIL CONCURRING, AS FOLLOWS:
<br />
<br />STREETS, REPARING OR TESTING MACHINERY IN.
<br />
<br />Manufacturing, repairing or testing of machinery, including the engines or
<br />
<br />other parts of motorcycles or other motor driven vehicles, on the sidewalks or in
<br />
<br />the streets are hereby forbidden under a penalty of not less tran five ($5) dollars
<br />
<br />for each offense, This ordinance is not to be construed as applying to emergency
<br />
<br />repairs made necessary by breakdowns, which repairs are neceseartly precedent to
<br />
<br />moving the vehicle with its own engine.

<br />RESLOVED, BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN, THE COMMON COUNCIL CONCURRING.

<br />That the sum of three thousand dollars be and is hereby appropriated to
<br />
<br />help defray costs of entertaining the Confederate Veterans at their reunion to be held
<br />
<br />in our City October 18, 19, 20, the same to be paid to B.F. Dickerson, Treasurer of
<br />
<br />the Finance Committee on or before October 15, 1921.

<br />AN ORDIANCE FIXING THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY:
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CONCURRING,
<br />
<br />That the levy for expenses of the City Government, for the expenses of the free
<br />
<br />schools, and to pay the interest on the bonded debt and provide for sinking fund
<br />
<br />requirements, for the fiscal year beginning September 1, 1921, and ending A
<br />
<br />1922, be as follows:
<br />
<br />FOR THE TERRITORY OF THE CITY PRIOR TO ANNEXATION DECREE OF 1916:
<br />
<br />On all taxable real estate and on all taxable personal property, and on all
<br />
<br />taxable tangible property of public service corporations, a tax be levied of $1.57-1/2
<br />
<br />on each. $100. assessed valuation thereof, and that upon all intangible personal
<br />
<br />property, as classified and defined by an Act of the General Assembly of
<br />
<br />the Acts of the Special Session aforesaid, 1915, approved March 17
<br />
<br />1915 which classification is hereby adopted, a tax of 30 cents on each $100. valuation
<br />
<br />thereof be levied.
<br />
<br />FOR THE TERRITORY OF THE CITY ANNEXED BY DECREE OF 1916:
<br />
<br />On all tangible personal property and real estate situated in the territory
<br />
<br />annexed to tre City of Charlottesville by order of the Circuit Court of Albemarle
<br />
<br />County, entered on the 14th day of February,1916, which became effective on the 15th
<br />
<br />day of May, 1916, the levy be as follows:
<br />
<br />On all taxable real estate and on all taxable personal property and on all
<br />
<br />taxable tangible property of public service corperations, a tax be levied of $1.25
<br />
<br />on each $100 assesed valuation thereof and,
<br />
<br />On all intangible personal property a levy of 30 cents on each $100. assessed
<br />
<br />valuation thereof.
