A RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING $50. TO PAY RAILROAD FARE OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS TO THE <br /> <br />REUNION AT RICHOND, VA. <br /> <br />RESOLVED, BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CONCURRING, <br /> <br />That the aim of $50, be and is hereby appropriated to pay railroad fare of Confeder- <br /> <br />ate veterans to reunion to be held in Richmond in June. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Commom Council May 11, 1922. <br />Ayes: Ellington, Forrest, Quarles, Via and <br />Watson. <br />Concurred in by Board of Aldermen May 15, 1922. <br />Ayes: Patton, Haden and Walker; Noes, Greaver. <br /> <br />Mayor Signature <br />Clerk Signature. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ENACTING SEC.75 OF THE CODE: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CONCURRING, THAT <br /> <br />SEC. 75 OF THE CITY CODE BE AMENDED AND RE-ENACTED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />No tax shall be assessed or collected <br /> <br />1. On any property belonging to the City. <br /> <br />2. On any buildings with land they actually occupy, lawfully owned and held by churches <br /> <br />or religious bodies and wholly and exclusively used for religious worship, or for the <br /> <br />residence of the minister of any such church or religious body, together with the <br /> <br />additional adjacent land reasonably necessary for the convenient use of any such <br /> <br />building. <br /> <br />3. On any real estate belonging to, actually and exclusively occupied and used by <br /> <br />Young Men's Christian Associations and other cimilar religious associations, orphan or <br /> <br />other asylums, reformatories, hospitals, and nunneries, which are not conducted for <br /> <br />profit, but purely and completely as charities. <br /> <br />4. On any buildings, wih the land they actually occupy, belonging to any benevolent <br /> <br />or charitable association and used exclusively for lodge purposes or meeting rooms <br /> <br />by such associations, together with such additional adjacent land as may be necessary <br /> <br />for the convenient use of the buildings for such purposes. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Adopted by the Commom Council May 11, 1922. <br />Ayes: Ellington, Forrest, Quarles, Via and <br />Watson. <br />Concurred in by Board of Aldermen May 15, 1922. <br />Ayes: Greaver, Haden, Patton and Walker <br /> <br />Mayor Signature <br />Clerk Signature. <br /> <br />
