business, professional, and occuptional license taxes,

<br />He shall notify each debtor of the amount of water and gas bills due by
<br />
<br />him to the City and that the amount is due and payable not later than the 10th day
<br />
<br />of the month or quarter for which the bill is rendered. He shall supply the superinten-
<br />
<br />dent of public utilities with the list of delinquents on the 11th day of each month
<br />
<br />or quarter, as the csse may be, except when such days may fall on Sunday, then on the
<br />
<br />following day; but the furnishing of such list to the Superintendent as aforesaid, shall
<br />
<br />not releive the City Collector or the City Manager of the responsibility of the
<br />
<br />collection of said delinquent bills.
<br />
<br />The City collector shall keep an accurate account of all collections
<br />
<br />made by him and shall deliver the monies collected by him daily to the City Treasurer,
<br />
<br />He shall report to the City Manager before the first meeting of the Council in each
<br />
<br />month of collections made by him during the preceeding month. The City Manager shall
<br />
<br />transmit this report to the Council at said first meeting in each month.
<br />
<br />All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance
<br />
<br />are hereby repealed

<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE THAT SECTION

<br />1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "An ordinance requiring a deposit by gas consumers- providing
<br />
<br />when gas bills are payable and providing for a service charge for gas connection." Adopted
<br />
<br />October 30, 1922, be amended acid re-enacted so as to read as follows:
<br />
<br />(1) DEPOSIT: Any person, firm or corporation which shall hereafter begin the
<br />
<br />use of City gas, shall before connection is made and meter placed make a deposit according
<br />
<br />to the following schedule:
<br />
<br />A consumer operating a hotel restaurant, eating house, hot dog stand or
<br />
<br />similar business, catering to transients $25.00. A consumer operating a boarding house
<br />
<br />aecomodating move than ten boarders, $10.00 all other consumers $5.00, except in cases
<br />
<br />where prepay meters are used the deposit shall be $2.50.
<br />
<br />Said deposit or any part thereof, may, at the option of the City, be applied
<br />
