<br />PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that at 10 o'clock A. M., or as soon thereafter as it
<br />may be heard, on the 16th day of September, 1935, the City of Charlottesville, a
<br />municipal corporation, created, existing and acting under and by virtue of the Acts
<br />of the General Assembly of Virginia, will, by its attorney, move the Circuit Court of
<br />Albemarle County, Virginia, at the Court House thereof, or the Judges, designated under
<br />the provisions of Chapter 120 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, to make an order
<br />authorizing and declaring the annexation to the said City of Charlottesville, Virginia,
<br />of certain territory which lies in Albemarle County, Virginia, the same being
<br />described in an ordinance of the Council of the said City, approved August 9th, 1938,
<br />entitled, "An Ordinance to extend the corporate limits of the City of Charlottesville
<br />in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 120 of the Code of Virginia, as amended't,
<br />a certified copy of which ordinance is hereto attached to be served with this notice
<br />and published according to law and is hereby made a part of this notice.
<br />The aforesaid ordinance was passed by the Council of said City by a recorded
<br />affirmative vote of a majority of all of the members elected to said Council, and sets
<br />forth that pursuant to Section 120 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, the said City
<br />desires to annex the said territory accordingly described therein by metes and bounds,
<br />and sets forth further, the necessity for or expediency of annexation, and the terms
<br />and conditions upon which it desires to annex said territory, as well as the provisions
<br />which are made for its future management and improvement.
<br />IN !31TNESS WHEREOF, the said City of Charlottesville has caused this notice
<br />to be executed by its Mayor, Dr. W. D. Haden, and its official seal to be hereto
<br />affixed,'attested by its Clerk, James E. Bowen, Jr., this the 15th day of August, 1935.

<br />ANNEXATION ORDINANCE
<br />AN ORDINANCE TO EXTEND THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
<br />CHARLOTTESVILLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS
<br />OF CHAPTER 120 OF THE CODE OF VIRGINIA, AS AMENDED.
<br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia:
<br />(1) That the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, hereby declares that it is
<br />desirable to annex in accordance with and pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 120
<br />of the Code of Virginia, as amended, certain territory, situated in and forming a
<br />part of Albemarle County, Virginia, which territory is adjacent to the present
<br />corporate limits of the City of Charlottesville, said territory proposed to be
<br />annexed being accordingly described by metes and bounds as follows:
<br />Beginning at a point near the south end of Ridge Street at a cross on
<br />a rock out -crop one hundred and thirty five feet east of the west margin of
<br />said Ridge Street; they_^e south seventy-five degrees fifty minutes east, two
<br />thousand three hundred nineteen and seven -tenths feet to a marker on the east
<br />side of Sixth Street, South East, approximately 150 feet south'of the so,.ithern
<br />margin of Rockland Avenue; thence south fifty-six degrees seventeen minutes
<br />east, one thousand four hundred and forty-four and seven -tenths feet to a marker,
<br />said last line being parallel to and approximately one hundred and fifty feet
<br />from the southern margin of Rockland Avenue; thence south eighty-nine degrees
<br />twenty-one minutes east, one thousand four hundred and fifty-four feet to a
<br />marker approximately fifteen feet from the south margin of Druid Avenue and
<br />one hundred fifty feet east of the viestern margin of Sonoma Street projected;
<br />thence north sixty-four degrees fifty-six minutes east, three thousand three
<br />hundred ti^enty-seven and nine -tenths feet to a marker east of the Barnes
<br />Lumber Corporation in the north side of Carlton Avenue one hundred five feet
