1 <br />11 <br />1 <br />[J <br />AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 494 (38) ENTITLED "STOVES AND <br />RANGES"; AND SECTION 494 (40) ENTITLED VIOPEN FLAME HEATING DEVICES"; <br />AND SECTION 494 (41) ENTITLED "GAS CONNECTIONS". <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section <br />494 (38) entitled "Stoves and Ranges"; Section 494 (40) entitled "Open Flame <br />Heating Devices"; and Section 494 (41) entitled "Gas Connections", be and the <br />same are hereby repealed. <br />Adopted by the Council June 16, 1941 <br />Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr.Haden, Mr. Huff, <br />Mr. Nash, and Mr. Peyton. <br />Noes: None. <br />Cler�j � President <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE GENERAL LICENSE TAX ORDINANCE OF THE <br />CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE FOR THE TWELVE MONTHS COMMENCING THE FIRST DAY OF <br />MAY, 1941, AND ENDING THE THIRTIETH DAY OF APRIL, 1942, BY THE ADDITION <br />THERETO OF A NEW SECTION DESIGNATED AS SECTION 74 (a) - LAUNDRIES <br />SUPPLYING AUTOMOBILE COVERS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that an <br />ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE FOR IMPOSING AND COLLECTING TAXES FOR THE <br />EXERCISE OF CERTAIN PRIVILEGES WITHIN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE FOR TWELVE <br />MONTHS COLIMENCING THE FIRST DAY OF MAY, 1941, AND ENDING THE THIRTIETH DAY OF <br />APRIL, 1942, be and it is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section <br />designated as Section 74 (a) which shall read as follows: <br />74 (a). Laundries Supplying Automobile Covers. <br />On every person engaged in the business of supplying cloths for <br />temporary protection of automobiles and cleaning the same there shall <br />be a specific license tax of $50.00. <br />This ordinance shall be in force from its passage. <br />Adopted by the Council June 2, 1941 <br />Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, <br />Mr. Nash, and Mr. Peyton. <br />Noes: None. <br />Presi ent <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 489 (64) <br />OF THE CITY CODE OF 1932, E14TITLED "PENALTY FOR FAILURE <br />TO STOP IN EVENT OF ACCIDENT". <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section <br />489 (64) of the City Code of 1932 be and the same is hereby amended and reenacted <br />so as to read as follows: <br />SEC. 489 (64) PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO STOP IN EVENT OF ACCIDENT. <br />Every person convicted of violating subdivision (a) of subsection <br />thirty, relative to duty to stop in the event of accidents, shall be <br />punished by imprisonment in jail for not less than thirty days nor more <br />than one year, or by fine of not less than one hundred dollars nor more <br />than five thousand dollars, or by both such fine and imprisonment. <br />This ordinance shall be in force from its passage. <br />Clerk 6/ <br />Adopted by the Council August 18, 1941. <br />Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. .
