<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 20 OF' CHAPTER 15 OF THE
<br />CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY CODE OF 1945 ENTITLED "DISCHARGE OF WATER, SLOPS,ETC".
<br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 20 of
<br />Chapter 15 of the Charlottesville City Coue of 1945 be and the same is hereby amended and
<br />reenacted so as to read as follows:
<br />SEC. 20. DISCHARGE OF WATER, SLOPS, ETC.
<br />No discharge from any bath tub, hydrant or other water fixture and no water
<br />which has been used for the washing of automobiles, trucks or other vehicles shall
<br />be permitted to flow into the street, upon the sidewalk, or upon the premises of an
<br />adjoining property. Under no circumstances shall the discharge from a water closet,
<br />kitchen sink, or slops from a kitchen, be turned in the street.
<br />Any one violating this section shall be fined five dollars ($5.00) for each day
<br />the same may continue after notice from the Health Officer or Chief of Police to
<br />abate the same.

<br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Cnarlottesville that Sections 148
<br />and 150 of Chapter 2 of the Charlottesville City Code of 1945 be and the same is hereby
<br />amended and reenacted so as to read as follows:
<br />SEC. 148 SAME - LISTS OF VALUATIONS TO BE FURNISHED BY AND RETURNED TO
<br />COMMISSIONER.
<br />The Commissioner of Revenue snall furnish to each person forms for lists
<br />of valuations as provided for by state laws, who shall within the time and in the
<br />manner therein mentioned, make out and deliver to the commissioner statements of
<br />all personal estate, moneys, contracts and credits which such person is required
<br />by the laws of Virginia dnd this chapter to list. The Director of Finance of the
<br />city shall have prepareu and furnish to the Commissioner of Revenue such forms
<br />for the return of tangible personal property ap,)licable to particular classes of
<br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that there is hereby
<br />levied pursuant to Chapter 8 of the Tax Code of Virginia for the calendar year 1947 a
<br />tax of 40 cents on each 4100.00 of the value of the shares of stock of banks located in
<br />the City as determined pursuant to the Tax Code of Virginia.
<br />Each bank located within the City of Charlottesville is hereby required to deliver to
<br />the Commissioner of the Revenue of the City a copy of the report which such banks is re-
<br />quired to furnish pursuant to said Chapter 8 of the Tax Code of Virginia, and it shall be
<br />the duty of the said Commissioner of the Revenue to extend the tax hereby imposed against
<br />the stockholders of such bank or banks at the rate herein levied.
<br />Each bank located within the City of Charlottesville shall on or before the first day
<br />of June, 1947 pay to the Treasurer of the City of Charlottesville the taxes hereby levied
<br />and so assessed, and the Treasurer of the City shall give to such bank or banks paying such
<br />taxes duplicate receipts as prescribed by the Department of Taxation. It shall be the duty
<br />of the Treasurer of the City to collect the tax hereby levied in the manner prescribed by
<br />Chapter 8 of the Tax Code of Virginia.
