AN ORDINANCE IMPOSING AND LEVYING A TAX UPON THE TAXABLE VALUE OF THE <br /> <br />SHARES OF STOCK OF BANKS LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that there is hereby <br /> <br />levied pursuant to Chapter 8 of the Tax Code of Virginia for the calendar year 1947 a <br /> <br />tax of 40 cents on each $100.00 of the value of the shares of stock of banks located in <br /> <br />the City as determined pursuant to the Tax Code of Virginia. <br /> <br />Each bank located within the City of Charlottesville is hereby required to deliver to <br /> <br />the Commissioner of the Revenue of the City a copy of the report which such bank is re- <br /> <br />quired to furnish pursuant to said Chapter 8 of the Tax Code of Virginia, and it shall be <br /> <br />the duty of the said Commissioner of the Revenue to extend the tax hereby imposed against <br /> <br />the stockholders of such bank or banks at the rate herein levied. <br /> <br />Each bank located within the City of Charlottesville shall on or before the first day <br /> <br />of June, 1947, pay to the Treasurer of the City of Charlottesville the taxes hereby levied <br /> <br />and so assessed, and the Treasurer of the City shall give to such bank or banks paying such <br /> <br />taxes duplicate receipts as prescribed by the Department of Taxation. It shall be the duty <br /> <br />of the Treasurer of the City to collect the tax hereby levied in the manner prescribed by <br /> <br />Chapter 8 of the Tax Code of Virginia. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council December 2, 1946. <br /> <br />Ayes: Mr. Adams, Mr. Gleason, Mr. Nash, <br /> <br />and Mr. Tebell. <br /> <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br />Clerk Signature <br />President Signature <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 20 OF CHAPTER 15 OF THE <br /> <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY CODE OF 1945 ENTITLED "DISCHARGE OF WATER, SLOPS, ETC.". <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 20 of <br /> <br />Chapter 15 of the Charlottesville City Code of 1945 be and the same is hereby amended and <br /> <br />reenacted so as to read as follows: <br /> <br />SEC. 20. DISCHARGE OF WATER, SLOPS, ETC. <br /> <br />No discharge from any bath tub, hydrant or other water fixture and no water <br /> <br />which has been used for the washing of automobiles, trucks or other vehicles shall <br /> <br />be permitted to flow into the street, upon the sidewalk, or upon the premises of an <br /> <br />adjoining property. Under no circumstances shall the discharge from a water closet, <br /> <br />kitchen sink, or slops from a kitchen, be turned into the street. <br /> <br />Any one violating this section shall be fined five dollars ($5.00) for each day <br /> <br />the same may continue after notice from the Health Officer or Chief of Police to <br /> <br />abate the same. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council December 16, 1946. <br /> <br />Ayes: Mr. Adams, Mr. Gleason, Mr. Nash, <br /> <br />Mr. Tebell and Mr. Watson. <br /> <br />Noes: None. <br />Clerk Signature <br />President Signature <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTIONS 148 AND 150 OF CHAPTER 2 <br /> <br />OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY CODE OF 1945. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Sections 148 <br /> <br />and 150 of Chapter 2 of the Charlottesville City Code of 1945 be and the same is hereby <br /> <br />amended and reenacted so as to read as follows: <br /> <br />SEC. 148. SAME - LISTS OF VALUATIONS TO BE FURNISHED BY AND RETURNED TO <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER. <br /> <br />The Commissioner of Revenue shall furnish to each person forms for lists <br /> <br />of valuations as provided for by state laws, who shall within the time and in the <br /> <br />manner therein mentioned, make out and deliver to the Commissioner statements of <br /> <br />all personal estate, moneys, contracts and credits which such person is required <br /> <br />by the laws of Virginia and this chapter to list. The Director of Finance of the <br /> <br />City shall have prepared and furnish to the Commissioner of Revenue such forms <br /> <br />for the return of tangible personal property applicable to particular classes of...
