that 011,000.00 had already been received from the local Lions Club. On motion by <br />Mr. Watson, seconded by Mr. Gleason, the following resolution was offered and carried <br />• over to the next meeting for consideration: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />$181000.00 be and the same is hereby appropriated to the School Board <br />Appropriation- for the construction of concrete seats &nd toilet facilities at the Lane <br />Lane High <br />Stadium High School, with the proviso that this appropriation is to be paid back <br />by the School Board from income received from the operation of the athletic <br />field. <br />Mr. R. H. Perry, Chairman of the School Board, advised the Council that it <br />would be necessary for the Colored Library to be moved from. the Colored School <br />Colored <br />Library building since the rooms were needed very badly by the school. On motion this <br />matter was referred to the City Manager for investigation and report. <br />• On motion a request from the Albemarle Fruit Packers Aesocia-tion to relocate <br />Peach Peach Street was referred to the City Attorney and City Manager with instructions <br />Street <br />to take the necessary steps to relocate said street. <br />The following report was presented and on motion referred to Mr. Nash and <br />o the City Manager with the request that they negotiate with Mrs. Howard to determine <br />the cost of additional right-of-way: <br />June 16, 1947 <br />Barracks To the Members of the City Council <br />Road Charlottesville, Virginia <br />Gentlemen: <br />In reference to the request by Mrs. Lena E. Howard <br />that an exchange deed be made for a right-of-way on Barracks <br />Road, we have had this property surveyed and it is my recommenda- <br />tion that an additional strip be secured from Mrs. Howard varying <br />in width from five (5) feet at the east end of her property to <br />eight (8) feet seven (7) inches at the west end of her property. <br />This would give a uniform right-of-way of fifty (50) feet along <br />her property. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Seth Burnley (signed) <br />SB:gbh City Manager <br />An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 24 OF <br />Ordinance - <br />I'V'dalls" <br />CHAPTER 7 OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY CODE OF 1945 ENTITLED I ALLSt", which was <br />offered at the last regular meeting was again read and adopted by the following <br />recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Adams, Mr. Gleason, Mr. Nash, Mr. Tebell, and Mr.Watson. <br />Noes: None. (Full text of this ordinance will be found recorded in Ordinance Book <br />3 , pages 18-19) . <br />The City Manager recommended the purchase of a force-feed loader and two <br />Equipment <br />snow plows, and estimated the cost to be $8,900.00. On motion by Mr. Gleason, <br />seconded by Mr. Nash, the following resolution was offered and carried over to the <br />next meeting for consideration: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />$8,900.00 or as much thereof as may be necessary be and the same is hereby <br />appropriated for the purchase of the aforementioned equipment. <br />On motion the following report was unanimously approved: <br />
