Clerk President COUNCIL CHAMBER, SEPTEMBER 21 1947 The Council met in regular session on this date with the following members present: Mr. Adams, Mr. Gleason, idr. Nash, and Mr. Watson. Minutes of the meeting of August 18, 19147 were read and approved. Dudley Former police officer J. W. Dudley addressed the Council and requested that Y en s ion his retirement pay of $72.50 per month be increased. Mr. Dudley was informed that it was the policy of the Council to retire City employees on one-half of their regular salary at the time of their retirement and they were not disposed to change tion of the overhead bridge at Shamrock Road.immediately. On motion the City tittorney and Director of Finance were instructed to confer Joint with a committee from Albemarle County in regard to a new Joint Health Department the following sidewalk Health Contract contract. VEPCO On motion a proposed amendment to the Virginia Electric & Power Company light • Contract City's and power contract was referred to the City Attorney for investigation and report.
