r CS <br />Tebell, seconded by Pyr. Gleason, and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br />A communication from Judge J. Callan Brooks stating that he had appointed <br />Du r ham - <br />Police Sergeant C. 0. Durham as temporary clerk and bailiff of the Civil and Police <br />Court Clerk <br />Justice Court, was presented. On motion this appointment was unanimously <br />approved. <br />The following resolution was offered by Mr. Tebell, seconded by lair. Nash, <br />and carried over to the next meeting for further considers tion: <br />Traffic BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />Survey x, . <br />64,500. 00, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is <br />hereby appropriated for a traffic survey in the City of Charlottesville. <br />Teen -Age On motion the Teen -Age Canteen was authorized to use the top floor of the <br />Canteen <br />rear Midway School building. <br />County On motion by 1dr. Tebell, seconded by Mr. Nash, the following county water <br />Water <br />Connections applications were approved: <br />James E. Timberlake <br />Bellemeade Development Corporation. <br />Bellair On motion by Mr. Nash, seconded by :fir. Tebell, the �14Iayor was authorized <br />Uyater Line <br />to execute an agreement with the Bellair Estates, Inc., with respect to a water <br />line. <br />On motion by Mr. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Nash, the following resolution <br />was unanimously adopted: <br />Shelves- BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />Storeroom <br />City Hall $75.00 or as much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby <br />appropriated for the erection of shelves in storeroom in the basement <br />of the City Hall. <br />Sewer- A communication from Mrs. Gladys Dove Bullock in regard to a seyler connec- <br />Chestnut <br />Street tion for her property on Chestnut Street was presented, and on motion referred <br />to the City Manager for investigation and report. <br />On motion the meeting adjourned. <br />Clerk President <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER, MAY 5, 1947 <br />The �-%ouncil met in regular session on this date with the following members <br />present: Mr. Adams, fir. Gleason, Mr. Nash, and Mr. Watson. <br />Minutes of the Meeting of April 21, 19x.7 were read and approved. <br />On motion by Mr. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Nash, the following resolution <br />was offered and carried over to the next meeting for further consideration: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />Addition and $1,950.00, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is <br />Repairs to <br />Fire House hereby appropriated for an addition and repairs to the Fire House. <br />The Fire Company submitted a report stating that they considered the <br />Report of Midway School Buildings a fire hazard. Fire Chief Page advised the Council <br />Fire Company <br />re: Midway that in his opinion the building was not safe to be used by the Teen -Age Club <br />School Bldgs. <br />for their club room.
