HILL, THAT THE <br />REQUEST TO UTILITIES UTILITIES COMMITTEE BE REQUESTED TO DRAWUP AN ORDINANCE WITH <br />COMMITTEE RE: ORDINANCE <br />ON RATES FOR GAS RESPECT TO 1NTERRUPTABLE RATES FOR LARGE GAS CONSUMERS IN OFF <br />CONSUMERS IN OFF <br />PEAK PERIODS. PEAK PERIODS AND TO SUBMIT THE SAME TO THE COUNCIL FOR <br />CONSIDERATION, WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED• <br />A MOTION BY MR. HADEN, SECONDED BY MR. BARB, THAT THE CITY <br />MANAGER BE AUTHORIZED TO GIVE A MODEST INCREASE IN SALARIES TO <br />MODEST INCREASE IN <br />MONTHLY EMPLOYEES MONTHLY CITY EMPLOYEES EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, PROVIDED THAT <br />SALARIES AUTHORIZED <br />SUCH INCREASE DOES NOT EXCEED THE CURRENT BUDGET, WAS UNANIMOUSLY <br />ADOPTED. <br />A COMMUNICATION FROM GENERAL J. A. ANDERSON, COMMISSIONER, <br />DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS, WITH RESPECT TO THE COMPLETION OF PLANS • <br />FOR THE ROUTE #'250 DISTRIBUTION ROAD WAS PRESENTED. THE <br />COMMUNICATION ADVISED THAT IT IS HOPED TO HAVE THE RIGHT-OF-WAY <br />COMMUNICATION RE: PLANS AVAILABLE IN APRIL, AND COMPLETE CONSTRUCTION PLANS, <br />ROUTE # 250 DIST. RD. <br />PRESENTED. INCLUDING BRIDGE PLANS, READY FOR ADVERTISEMENT IN JULY, PROVIDED <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY HAS BEEN SECURED AND PROVIDED BY THAT TIME. A <br />MOTION BY MR. HILL, SECONDED BY MR. BARR, THAT THE MAYOR ACKNOW- <br />LEDGE RECEIPT OF THE ABOVEMENTIONED LETTER FROM GENERAL ANDERSON, <br />AND TO ADVISE THAT THE CITY IS PROCEEDING IN SUCH MANNER AS TO <br />AID IN THE COMPLETION OF THE PLANS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TIME <br />STIPULATED IN HIS LETTER, WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. <br />A PETITION RELATIVE TO THE APPOINTMENT OF MRS. S. B. WE I NBERG <br />WAS PRESENTED AND ORDERED FILED WITH THE MINUTES OF THIS MEETING, <br />A COMMUNICATION FROM THE JUNIOR CHAMBER OF COMMERCE EXPRESSING <br />COMM. FROM JUNIOR GRATITUDE FOR THE COOPERATION OFFERED THAT ORGANIZATION DURING <br />CHAMBER OF COMMERCE <br />RECEIVED. THE STATE QUARTERLY BOARD MEETING RECENTLY HELD IN CHARLOTTESVILLE <br />WAS PRESENTED.
