cwner or reputed owner, architect, builder or authorized <br />a gent, <br />SEC. 13.—It shall be the duty of the said Sup't of Sew <br />ers to give immediate attention upon receiving any <br />notice, as hereinbefore specified. and within the time <br />tlierein limited, to wit: three days to report thereon, <br />and in case that the Sup't of Sewers shall find that any <br />of the plans, specifications, drawings, &c., connected <br />with the work to be done, are not in conformity to this <br />ordinance and approved by the City Engineer, he shall <br />tliereupon forthwith give notice in writing to the person <br />interested, setting forth specially the ground of objec- <br />tion, and upon the said parties or persons complying with <br />the order of said Sup't of Sewerage, so soon as the plans <br />and specifications shall be submitted, if the same be cor- <br />rect, to approve them in writing, and issue a permit, au, <br />tliorizing the construction of said house drainage. <br />SEC. 14.—)'o drainage, sewerage or plumbing shall be <br />covered or concealed in any way until after it has been <br />examined and approved by the City Engineer. Notice <br />must be given to the Sup't of Sewerage when the work <br />is sufficiently advanced for such purpose, and it shall be <br />the duty of the said Sup't of Sewerage, within three <br />days after such notice, to inform the City Engineer, who <br />shall immediately inspect the same, and in case any <br />change therein shall be found necessary, he shall direct <br />in writing the change to be made. In no case shall any <br />pipes, traps or otlier plumbing work be permanently <br />concealed in floors or partitions, brit shall be left easy of <br />access. <br />SHc. i 5.—The main drainage of every lhonse or build- <br />• in; shall be separately and independently connected with <br />the street sewer, where one is provided, and where there <br />is no sewer in the street, and it is necessary to construct <br />a private sewer to connect with one on an adjacent street <br />such plans must he used as may be approved by the City <br />Engineer, but in no case shall a joint drain be laid in <br />cellars, parallel with street or alley. All house drains or <br />soil pipes laid beneath the cellar floor shall be of extra <br />hravy cast iron pipe, with leaded or caulked joints, or <br />of anti -rust wrought iron pipe with screw joints. All <br />other drains, soil' or waste pipes, connected with the <br />main drain, or where the inain drain pipe is above the <br />cellar floor, shall be of cast iron pipe or of anti -rust <br />
